The Eco Warriors have been exploring how waste items can be reused and upcycled into usable products. At a recent meeting the group used a number of leftover objects to create effective, usable items, which included bags from old shirts, pencil pots from tin cans and fabric, garden ornaments form old plant pots and rainmakers from cardboard boxes and stones. They are hoping to encourage children and parents to think carefully about reusing unwanted items in other, useful ways.
The Eco Warriors are holding a competition to find West Park Academy’s most ingenious upcycling inventor!
Entries need to be brought into school by Friday 18th May 2018 for The Eco Warriors to judge. The item must be created from a used product that is no longer wanted and it must have a clear purpose.
There will be a winning prize and two runners up prizes. We look forward to seeing your ideas!
