Update from Mrs Hirst

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we draw to a close on what has been a rather challenging year in school and the wider community, I would just like to share with you some of our preparations for September.

Transition

For children coming into our Reception and leaving Year 6 there is transition information and videos on our VLE. In Nursery the children who are new will be taking part in  Nursery visits and more information will be available closer to the time.  For all other year groups, the new class teacher will be hosting Zoom conversations so that children can both see each other again and meet their new class teacher.

Details on how to join the meet the meetings will be shared via Marvellous Me on the day of the meeting.  If you do not have access to Marvellous Me please contact the school office.  You will not need to register for Zoom but you will need to ensure your child's name is set on your app before you join.  For security reasons we will not allow unknown names into the zoom calls.

Unfortunately, as all teachers are currently covering classes for children in school, we are unable to carry out other meetings if you cannot to make the time allocated for your child's new class.  You can contact your child's class teacher via email, details of which are on their transition letter.

VLE

As we approach the summer break we will be winding down the VLE and replacing it with more challenges to get involved with activities that build a sense of community for the children between themselves and their peers.

All back to school

As directed by the Government we will be closed for the summer break but we will be using the time to prepare the school for everyone returning. Yesterday the Government produced information on this and we are currently working hard on ensuring that we have systems in place that implement all of the guidance. As soon as this is finalised we will share this with you so you can be assured that we are doing everything necessary to make the environment both welcoming and secure.  We are very excited to welcome all children back on 2nd September 2020 and get back to some kind of normal.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Hirst
