School Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

As I am sure you are aware we are seeing a rise in the number of positive cases across the community, particularly in young adults and school age children. The impact of this has been disrupted education for many children. Currently, we have no alternative but to close bubbles when a positive case is identified. We are extremely happy that the government is reviewing this for September and will keep you updated.

Until that time, we have taken the difficult decision to carry out all end of term activities, sports days, Year 6 leavers’ assembly and Nursery graduation remotely. We will be utilising the website and our Facebook pages to keep you involved as much as possible.

We have also been informed by Public Health that the symptoms of the Delta variant replicate hay fever, runny nose and sore throat etc. This is the variant that is circulating more widely within the community presently. Unfortunately we have no choice but to send children home who have these symptoms and request that they get a PCR test. We understand that is very disruptive to both children and parents, but this is the guidance we have to adhere to to reduce transmission.

Thank you for your understanding at this challenging time, and we hope for more stability in September.

Mrs S Hirst
